Room, bed sheets, carpet, tub was dirty. When we took showers, the steam from the ceiling would gather up water drops and start to fall on our heads. Disgusting and their was a dead bug on the ceiling. Would never stay here again!!!
The hotel is just not well maintained. Extremely short staffed. The rooms no longer have a coffee machine, the shower curtains barely cover the tub. The rooms have not been refitted in decades except the beds which surprisingly are very good. Common areas are not very clean. The staff on the other hand are wonderful, friendly and very helpful. I feel bad for them.
The rooms were hot and humid, each room had a box fan in the closet, it kind of seems like they know that this is an issue and are doing nothing to fix it. When I asked what can be done at the front desk, I was told someone would come and help us open the window in our room to let some cold air in. No one ever showed up. We had to go and buy an additional fan for our room to make it tolerable enough to sleep.
This is not a 5 star resort and it does not claim to be. It is a hotel with a few additional amenities. There is a bar but it was only open on Thursday and Friday night during my stay so I was a bit disappointed. The room was clean and livable. I had a bottle of water waiting on me each day which was a very nice touch. There was a nice note on my bedside table from housekeeping to welcome me, another nice touch. Each day when I got in from work the room was clean, the trash was removed, the bed was made and the towels were replaced. The staff that I came in contact with were all very cordial and polite. I would definitely stay at the Red Lion again when visiting High Point :)

Location was fine for our needs. Hallways seemed somewhat shabby and dingy. One elevator was not working and the other was somewhat recalcitrant.
This property was a complete letdown. I have stayed at this property many times when it was owned by Radisson with no complaints. The property has gone down to a one star facility. Received towels with holes in them. Management said she was not surprised. Room was not serviced, bed not made, towels not removed from previous day. Will never stay at this facility again.
The 5th floor smelled like gas as well as in the room. I asked the front desk to move to another room and she said it was the dryers and all floors had that smell. It was also so hot and the AC was turned off for the winter.
Lost contract with connecting garage. Room was very dirty with dust. Bathrooms had mold in tub. Toilet lid broken. Door was broken. Oh yea this was 2nd room they gave us. First room they gave us wasn't readying (doors wouldn't work with card) when got all the way to 7th floor. So had to take family all they way back down to desk to get a new room on 6th floor. We couldn't adjust room temperature. As thermostat did not change room temperatures.
Expedia listed this property as including breakfast. Breakfast was not included in the price and was off the menu, for which I had to pay extra. Not happy. False advertising.

Disliked: Amenities
Air conditioning was not working at all and i couldn't sleep almost all night. And when i call to fix it they said it's winter time and ac doesn't work in winter and inside room is 80 degrees.
Gave me the wrong room and said I was lucky to come tell them. My room was confirmed so it shouldn’t be a hassle regardless.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
I like the decor and feeling of being in a place with some history. I would like some information on how an artist might submit a piece for display in the property-thanks!
Hotel was not as advertised. No breakfast, no coffee in the room or the lobby. The room temperature was extremely warm and the air conditioner wouldnt work. Very limited vending machines and the front desk staff was not helpful in trying to navigate the town.
The lobby is really open and inviting and well-appointed. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The hallways and carpets look like they were stars of scary movie scene— dingy and stained and bleached where is was apparently needed. No toilet paper in my room, but I didn’t call down to the desk because the phone and the alarm clock in my room didn’t work. We were riding down in the elevator and the metal elevator ceiling fell down on my daughter. She wasn’t hurt, but gee was that scary!
