The food offering on Monday night was good . Starter and mains were really good . Tuesday breakfast was good and it was great to have poached egg cooked to order . Thank you Norton house for a good time - we would definitely stay again"

"Check in and out was very easy. The rooms are large. The beds are huge. The only issue is there is no parking and the car park operated nearby is expensive for 24 hours and we stayed for two nights. I think it cost 18 for 24 hours but it was very close. The location though is perfect. Bars and shops are all very close. The location made all the difference. So much so we are rebooking for June 2027."

Built of Norman stone during the 12th Century, it sadly fell into disuse and disrepair from the Middle Ages onward, after a turbulent history, and in paintings it was often portrayed as a romantic ruin, pleasant to look at, but of little interest besides. Now all of that has changed.
