Really convenient and easy walk from Gotemba station, friendly staff, and a clean and comfortable room. I loved that they provided little skincare kits in the bathroom, as well. It was a great layover stay before a trip to Mt. Fuji.

Route Inn is an excellent brand. This was the second one we stayed in. Extremely clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. They stored our luggage while we climbed Mt. Fuji. I loved the hot springs bath on site. Laundry machines worked great. Breakfast had plenty of offerings. Easy walking distance to Gotemba Station and free bus to the Outlet Malls. Would definitely recommend and would gladly stay here again.

Great business hotel. Very clean. Staff very friendly & helpful but very little English. Not a problem as we all have translaters. Room was small, just enough rooom for one person to walk past the bed to the bathroom. Breakfast was typical Japanese food, no western foods besides scrambled eggs & pastries. I liked it.

Disappointed.

Could do so much better. Beds were terribly hard and only one small pillow. Room looked refurbished but dull dreary colours . Small bath and rather high to get into to have a shower. Breakfast for Westerners very poor . No cereal no toast or fruit or yogurts . They had run out of Croissants . Excellent location to catch bus to Mount Fuji and Train Station.

We were so glad to have booked our stay at the Hotel Route-Inn Gotenba Ekiminami. We came in by train and it was an easy walk down to the hotel from the station, a few blocks. This was a great base to climb Mt Fuji - I took a taxi from the hotel to the Subashiri trailhead (or the Gotemba trailhead would work), then took the trailhead bus right back to Gotemba Railraod station for an easy walk home. There are several good restaurants in the area (we recommend Horaana Pizza!) but if you are tired there is a 7-11 in between the station and the hotel that has EVERYTHING you need including drinks, beer, wine, and many wonderful meals that are easy to heat in the hotel microwave. The restaurant offers a full traditional Japanese breakfast. The beds were firm and the room was a bit small, but this is common for Japan. It was truly one of the cleanest rooms and bathroom that I have every stayed in. We had some complicated questions and the Route-Inn staff was incredibly courteous and helpful to us. The outlet mall has a free bus and it was a fun way to rest after climbing the mountain.
