What a great place to spend a few days! It’s nothing fancy but everything about this place is exceptional. Cook to order breakfast, real eggs (had to find in a hotel breakfast!), great pool, off the busy strip but close to everything! Direct TV so plenty of channels for a quick rain storm, large pool, friendly staff, clean spacious room- really can’t think of anything negative. We will definitely be back!

This property was immaculate and totally updated. The bed was firm and the towels big and fluffy. On weekends there is a made-to-order home cooked breakfast. Our room overlooked a stream.

Terrible policy. I am extremely disappointed with how this motel handled our situation. We tried to explain that my wife was very sick, but because they refused to refund our reservation, we felt we had no choice but to make the trip anyway. Unfortunately, my wife’s condition got worse, and we ended up in the hospital instead of being able to stay at the motel. Despite this medical emergency, they showed absolutely no empathy and refused to offer any type of refund or even a partial credit. Things happen that are beyond a guest’s control, and a little compassion would have gone a long way. Instead, they chose to keep our money without any flexibility. Customer service isn’t just about enforcing policies, it’s about treating people like human beings. I understand businesses have cancellation policies, but exceptional circumstances deserve consideration. This experience left a very negative impression, and I would think twice before booking here again.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Sleepy Bear. The rooms were very clean, we loved sitting on the balcony in the morning, watching the brook and sipping on our coffee. The staff was super friendly and I would highly recommend this motel and if we are in Gatlinburg again, we will stay there.

I love this place! We were only here for 2 days, but we will definitely come back! The rooms are clean, the staff were super friendly, the beds are comfortable and the ac is ice cold!! The bad… no coffee maker in the room and the kitchen doesn’t open until 7… unfortunately we are early risers. There was a soft moldy spot in the bathroom ceiling (about the size of a softbal) that was a bit gross, but we could overlook it. All in all.. we loved the place

Wonderful price for a convenient motel in Gatlinburg. Nothing fancy but what more do you need then the sound of crickets and a creek by the balcony. Pool offered a 2ft swimming area for my toddler which was great 👍 chef makes cook to order food on weekends USES REAL EGGS!

I had a great stay at sleepy bear motel over the 4th of July weekend. The staff was all super helpful, being able to stay out of the hustle and bustle of downtown Gatlinburg with access to ride the free trolley to go downtown was amazing. Great restaurants you could walk to across the street was a awesome addition. The free breakfast served on the weekend was fantastic and well worth it. I loved how they kept the nostalgic feel of the motel rooms with updated beds, large tv, and ice cold air conditioning, etc. I will definitely be returning in the near future.

Saturday and Sunday breakfast made to order. The pool was wonderful enjoyed swimming every day after sightseeing in Gatlinburg. Easy trolley access to get to town or travel to the arts and craft community. Beautiful little patio by the creek running behind the rooms. Small family owned and operated establishment.

Definitely a hidden gem! I was amazed at the great reviews so I booked to see for myself and I was pleasantly surprised, the rooms are clean and nicely updated. The made to order breakfast was included in the price and was better than most meals you pay for at the big breakfast places. The pool was clean and readily available and access in and out is easy and hassle free, and the free trolley service has pick up and drop off right in front so no need to battle traffic and pay for parking in the crowded downtown. The attention to detail by the extremely helpful and friendly staff was undeniable. This place really is throwback to the old family vacation style motels I remember in Gatlinburg as kid, and it made for a great memory inducing visit to old world smokey mountains charm. While some would consider it a basic and no frills place to stay, the price and hospitality make this a top notch experience. Would definitely recommend and we plan to return here for out next trip.

Everything was great. Tvs are huge! Pool was nice. Being steps from the shuttle was amazing. It was a weekend, so it was a full motel, and our upstairs neighbors were loud & banging things and fighting til 2 am, and our next door neighbors had about 6 people in their room so definitely not quiet. But that in no way should reflect the hotel. It was very nice, and the food while we were there for breakfast was amazing!

Nicely renovated motel with updated rooms, beds, and bathrooms. Motel offers cook to order breakfast on weekends with stay, which is a very nice addition. Far enough away from the main drag for quiet, but walking distance with public shuttle stops nearby. I would stay there again in the future.

Excellent stay! Highly recommended. Clean and cozy. The breakfast and staff are great!! Location is close to the Smokies but not in the middle of the tourist chaos.

We has a great time there. We will come back. I loved going on the balcony and listening to the creek. This Place amazing. Breakfast to order was the best.
