"This is an exceptional property. There is a lot of wood in the decor which some will find a bit dated but it is very well executed and spotless. It harks to a different era and does it very well. The food across all of its restaurants is of the highest standard and sets it apart from any other property in my 40yrs of travel. Of course the Michelin 2☆ is expensive but they executed a pop-up restaurant on the pier next to the Sea whilst we stayed which was flawless. The 2 Michelin recommended restaurants Avista and Asia were incredible value. The surprise for me was the quality at the poolside "cafe" better than any UK gastropub. The flowers and grounds around the hotel were beautiful. The staff (excepting one) were friendly, gracious, attentive and anticipate guests needs perfectly. The breakfast in Avista, the happy hour at the Cliff bar were great. You could find fault in there not being complimentary water around the pools. In other properties you might receive complimentary ice lollies around the pools. These small details do not detract from this property. I look forward to returning in 2 years. I strongly recommend."

"Amazing hotel and staff! Very clean and lovely rooftop bar and pool - front desk gave many great recommendations, from hikes to restaurants. Would absolutely stay again! Recommended a parking lot 5 minute walk away that’s only €4.50 per day, so was easy to have a rental car."

"Really excellent stay here, first time to this Hotel, 5th time to Madeira. I have no hesitation to recommend this hotel, one of the best I have ever stayed at! Staff are really nice, friendly, and cannot do enough for you. Rooms - Standard, all very ample, clean and tidy, ample room etc. I would pick a full sea view if possible. Food and Drinks, amazing, loads of choices. Lots to choose from! breakfast all very good, lunch excellent and dinner. Sports Bar and Snack area are amazing. Great location, checkin and reception staff all very good, again cannot do enough for you. Would 100% revisit this hotel with our family again! Also the come around at the pool and can get drinks for you - amazing, but I choice at some days to get it myself, exercise and all that :)"
