"Stayed at The Parkgate Hotel over two nights. Hotel is a short five minute walk from Cardiff Central Station and on arrival, check in was effortless with reception staff explaining all the important amenities and services well, was in no doubt where and what was available during our visit. "I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Having a the convenience of the kitchen in the room meant I wasn't reliant on a restaurant or takeaway for sustenance, which made a pleasant change. The room was very clean and spacious with a comfortable bed and furnishing and good Wi-Fi and vey quiet. The parking was convenient but a bit limited. The surroundings were quite nice being close to the docks, but it was clear to see that there is still some development going on in the areas around the hotel."

The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the duvet was happily not tucked into the bed, meaning you could get straight in without having to re-tuck the bed sheet in (tucked in duvets is a pet hate!). "The room with a bunk bed has a very flimsy glass door. When you sit on the toilet, you touch the door with your leg. The room is not silent, you can hear noise from other rooms. No shower curtain so the bathroom was drenched after using the shower"

"This is a property without a reception desk and access is provided by a lock box key. i had a few problems downloading the key details. I emailed the property and was immediately contacted and provided with the necessary details. The property is very clean and the courtyard is a wonderful floral area. Some items of furniture were a bit tired but that is being really picky. There is no car parking outside the property but this is made clear prior to booking. There is street parking nearby."
