The person checking us in was not happy we used Expedia to book our stay. She repeated over and over, you should have book it through the hotel so you would get the discount tickets for local business’s. She was not happy about us booking through Expedia. Not a good first impression.

I didn’t like that the owner called me after I booked through Expedia asking me to call so she could switch it over for convenience. She made it seem like I did something wrong. The bed was uncomfortable and the carpet felt dirty. The property was quiet and safe. Overall just outdated.

The property is old but it’s part of its charm … we found it to very clean and Lyn is very hospitable. They are in true Door County spirit taking care of us as if we were family! It’s not the big city vibe that so much of Door County has fallen to but rather the honest sincere service that really hopes you enjoy your stay and they do all they can to see to it you do … from coupons for local business to soft fluffy pillows… we will so be back!! Thanks Lyn … thanks to your family and your helpers everyone was fabulous!!

Place to sleep

No frills in the room, but it was a nice location and clean. The service was good and they had a pool and hot tub. Simply a place to lay your head at night.

We had a power outage and had no power Saturday night or water or air conditioning of course. So we couldn't flush the toilet or shower. There are no coffee makers in the room and we had to walk across the street for coffee in the morning. I got a spider bite during the night, the next morning my husband found a web between the nightstand and the bed They said they would be doing some compensations but as of a week we haven't heard anything. We paid $690 for two nights and it was definitely not worth that! Not at all what we were hoping to experience.

Very quiet at night, although we stayed on a Wed. & Thur. night, so I'm not sure it would be that quiet during the weekend. Towels & bedding weren't changed during our stay. First time ever faced with that! Owner was very nice at explaining what there was to do around the immediate area nearby. Will probably think of staying their next Fall again.

The staff greeted us warmly. Our room was very much a budget kind of room. Nothing special, but seemed clean. A musty damp smell was constant, and for us, a turn off. Rooms are expensive in Fish Creek, we understand, we paid over $200 for this room for the location. The room was much more of a $99 or less type room.

Warm bedroom.

Nice place and we may stay there again. Couple of issues for our room - terrible soap haven't seen soap this bad since military days. Could not cool the bedroom, so put a/c in main room on high with the hope of reaching the bedroom - some did. We could use a floor fan to blow cool air into the bedroom.

We last stayed here 10 years ago and remember it being so much nicer. We previously stayed on second floor and were on ground level this time. Room was very small as was the bathroom. Seemed more like a low end hotel you might find in a larger city. Also dont recall last time we stayed somewhere where there was no coffee in the entire place. The positives are nice pool and hot tub, great location, and friendly staff. Overall disappointing given the price we paid.
