"Love the Portland Guest House, fantastic location for wide choice of restaurants in the town. The place is always spotless and the staff are so friendly. Entry is now via key box system and breakfast has moved over to Continental only. This still offers a good choice of food and drinks. Defo recommend the place."

"We stayed 3 nights in a bleak February. The weather was bad, but the room was warm and cosy. The dining hall was shut, but a continental breakfast was laid out on the landing and a small table and chairs provided in the room. Cooked breakfast was available for a small extra fee, but we didn't feel we needed one. "I was extremely lucky to be allowed to check in a tad earlier than stated Outside of the building looks a little tired but there is parking outside for 4 cars however there is a road opposite that I parked in and had my partner pick up a couple days later . The area appears to be very nice. It was extremely easy to find from my journey from M5 . I enjoyed a little walk around the town . There’s a Tesco and a few charity shops and post office. My room was clean and had coffee making facilities....

"Very dirty bathroom, beds had miss match bedding & pillow cases on. No banister on the stairs, holes in the wall, lights not working, wardrobes were broken. Used the beds to sleep and left very early on to go grab showers elsewhere before starting our day "
