Sorry about the mosquitoes, we have had them bad and late this year. Usually the aerial spraying before July 4th sees them off but we have had a lot of rain this year - a perfect breeding environment for those pests. Thank you for pointing out some of our dining restrictions as many people do not realize how far we are from the nearest town and your Innkeeper is also the only cook in the establishment which is why we give guests times, so that we can take care of everyone with minimum wait time and maintain our service and food quality standards.

Actually you can bring in your own beverages, but since we pay a good price for our liquor license and insurance to cover service of same in our public areas, plus paying staff to serve and clean up using hotel glasses etc., we have a corkage fee of $15 for wine brought into the dining room.

We tried to offer you another night and offer you a credit on a future stay, both of which you refuse, so there is not much more we could do. We were booked solid the night you changed your mind to stay and could not re-let the room the night you had booked. end of story. Hope all goes better where you are now.

Yes, this Historic Hotel is really a country inn - we have many such places in England and they are like a cross between a bed and breakfast and a small boutique type hotel. We do have TV in the parlor for guests, but when polled our guests said no TV in the rooms please, so that is what we have - no TV in the rooms. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay. You came down a back road to get to the hotel. The instructions on your confirmation tell you to take the next exit which is the main entrance to the town and that is paved for the 3 miles it takes you from the interstate to the town and the hotel. It is really a country inn, but the name hotel has been there for 100 years so it is difficult to change successfully. We are in a very rural area in a very sparsely populated state, so yes we are a country inn which is a little more than a bed and breakfast, but less than a full service hotel. Most of our guests come for the old world charm. It seems to me that perhaps you should have chosen a more main stream hotel in a town of more than 190 souls. Internet is usually OK, but you are right we are in a tiny town and sometimes the bandwidth gets used up so the internet can be patchy - streaming is not an option. Not much we can do about that, ask At& T to give us more bandwidth! Sorry about the shower handle the guest before you damaged it and as you say a long way from town so we have to wait to get a replacement part - no shop for 50 miles. Most of our 'rules' are about smoking, pets, and candles. The building is all wood, it is over 100 years old and the fire department is volunteer, and the nearest hospital is 50 miles away. These are stated to make sure guests understand the dangers and it is for your protection and that of other guests and staff. I do not see how asking hunters not to clean their guns or game on our hotel towels constitutes severe restrictions, we say and can supply rags and old towels for the purpose.
