"We loved our one night stay here. I was worried because I didn’t realize there was no lift on the property, but the staff was very helpful in getting us to our room. "
"Posizione ottimale per evitare il traffico di Edimburgo. L'autobus si ferma davanti all'albergo e il treno è a 5 minuti a piedi.
Staff gentilissimo e struttura molto ben gestita."
"Amazing opportunity to stay in a real castle with such a rich history. The staff, especially Jon, were outstanding. Everyone was so accommodating. It seems like they have been making constant improvements to the property. The spa closes early (6p) and several amenities in the spa were out of order. Be aware that the archery and falconry, although on the property, are run by a separate company, closes at 5p, and requires a reservation. The remote location is beautiful and quiet, but be...
"I was really impressed by the level of communication from the Pillars.
We had booked the room some 5 months earlier to see the military tattoo.
Upon arrival, we were met by Craig, who went to great lengths to point out ways by which we could get the most of our trip to Edinburgh; eateries, pubs, clubs, etc.

The kitchen was well equipped and had yoghurt,...
"The rooms were large and tastefully decorated. It's a very quiet area and the staff was friendly and helpful. It's really a unique castle experience we really enjoyed."
"Quaint stone house converted in to a 10 room hotel. These are quite common in Edinburgh, and there are quite a few of them in the same area.
Recently renovated and clean. The other guests were all quite which was nice. A short distance from the action of the Royal Mile, about 10 min by buses that run ever few minutes.
WiFi was very slow, but other then that it was a great place to stay and I would stay here again."
"The B&B is about a 8-10 minute walk from the tram station that runs to & from the airport (the stop closest is Balfour St). Our room was in the lowest floor (below street level), and was a good size. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fine; plenty of hot water (though the water heater made a loud noise when in use). They provided a bottle of filtered water, chocolate bars, tea and instant coffee, along with a hot pot. I couldn't figure out the TV, so I didn't bother with it; it was...
