"Friendliness of staff and shop retailers in the area. Location within walking distance to light rail and close to everywhere I wanted to go. Julian a guest who took my bag up to the second floor then was interested to know my opinion on where I went. I felt completely safe walking in the street at night being on my own and female. Most guests ignored me but this I didn't mind since the desk staff were so friendly. I'd gladly stay again. This was the first holiday I had by myself so I got to go...

"Fabulous location just next door to Sydney's city centre train station and transportation hub. Very convenient as a base for arriving late or leaving early. We had an ensuite room but shared bathroom and dormitory style also available. Breakfast was a little overpriced."

"Lovely hostel in a great location -- especially enjoyed the curtained beds which made sleeping easy and great breakfast! Generally good cleanliness, although did see a cockroach in the hallway one evening. Also, the rooms did get really hot in the evening and it was hard to bring the temperature down, but if you don't mind a toasty room it wasn't too bad. "

"My stay at The Village was wonderful, from the moment I checked in with Jonnie. He was super friendly and helped us at all times. Our trip to Cairns was to celebrate my mom's birthday, and I can say that we had a very pleasant experience. "The room was really big with a lot of space, the problem was humidity, there was mold in the walls and got worse during the days we stayed. The kitchen is well equipped and has also an airfryer. The best was location really near everything supermarket , port and lagoon pool."
