"Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was okay but not the one I had booked. Breakfast was good and varied. It’s located close to the city centre with a lot of bars and restaurants within a 10 minute walk, but it was quiet enough for a good night’s sleep. Nothing I could say wowed me but a good place to stay to enjoy the city."

"Daniel and Johnathan helped us get our two rooms closer together. The new room was updated and lovely. The staff we dealt with were kind and professional even when fire alarms were going off in the morning the next day. They helped by holding our bags so we could explore the city before boarding our train."

The County Hotel, Newcastle

"The County is a lovely old building in a good location opposite the train station. There is some expensive parking at the rear. The reception staff were very helpful. The junior suite was well fitted out although the curtains were difficult to close (as the room was so tall) so let light in from the sides. It was absolutely fine for a couple of nights but would have been a bit soulless for a longer period and more suited to someone attending a conference in one of the many rooms they had for that purpose. We didn’t take any meals there so can’t comment on the food. Absolutely fine for our purposes."
