"The property wasn’t ready when we arrived for 3pm, eventually ready at 5pm. When we arrived the fridge was not turned on so we could not refrigerate anything for several hours, the doors were left closed so when opened the fridge smelled awful & very unhygienic. "After finally being allocated a room, the room was stiflingly hot as this was the hottest May on record, and the in room AC did not work. As such we had to open the window later that evening when the outside temperature had dropped low enough, but were then unable to get any sleep as the hotel backs on to a railway station, and we had to listen to trains arriving and departing probably every 10 mins or so until about midnight. We were leaving the hotel at 3:30am and so had not sleep at all."

"This hotel was good all round. The only fault I could report on is that for us the mattress was a little hard. Also all the standard rooms have shower over a bath which makes it hard and difficult for elderly people to get over the side of the bath to have a shower. I know that there rooms available for people with disabilities but not all elderly people have disabilities. Elderly people without disabilities would be safer with a stand alone shower (without a bath)."

"The Waterside Hotel was very good in terms of facilities and staff. However, the room was exceptionally hot after a spell of warm weather. The main issue though was that there was no shower! I had upgraded to a King Room. There was a corner bath with a handheld shower attachment. There was nowhere to sit the attachment without soaking the entire bathroom which led to having to switch the shower on and off to wash. A standard room with decent shower would have been a better option."

"Many of the rooms have been renovated, but the hotel appears to be going for a very minimalist approach. Our room had a bed, a slim desk with an office chair, and two small side tables, along with five hangers on a long metal bar and three small hooks for clothing. There was definitely not enough hangers or space for one person’s clothes, let alone for two people staying in the room. The room did include an espresso machine and a water kettle, which we appreciated. The room had a large TV, but even though it was a smart TV, the hotel had disabled access to apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime, which meant we could only watch cable TV rather than log into our own streaming apps. The room also came with an ironing board on the wall, and an iron and small fan that were all placed on the floor in the corner of the room, which made the overall design feel even more awkward and unfinished. There was no mini fridge, no drawers, no dresser, no safe, no phone to call the front desk for service, no bench to sit on while taking your shoes off, no artwork on the walls, and no small dining table with comfortable chairs to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or snacks. The washroom also had very limited space for toiletries, especially with no drawers or storage areas available. Overall, the room felt so empty that we immediately noticed it upon entering. Unfortunately, it gave the space an unfinished and somewhat awkward feeling rather than a comfortable or cozy atmosphere."
