COCOS Hotel - Adults Only - Caters to Couples - All Inclusive

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel has a wonderful and unique location on a little peninsula that overlooks gorgeous waters of Jolly and Valley Church Beaches. I love the authentic grounds that is not luxurious. Food was amazing, drinks were great. Staff very helpful and friendly. Best vacation we had in the Caribbean. Best waters, best hotel, best food. We all loved the open shower in our cabin. The night entertainment was all nice and unique. Overall a very nice and relaxing vacation with our adult children. I would definitely want to go back."

"The location was perfect and the property was really beautiful. The rooms were comfortable (beds) and I actually loved the our room did not have a tv so we spent more time out on the property. The snorkeling at the resort is really good...a lot of different fish. The outdoor pool area is very nice but he pool was a bit dirty (sand and leaves on the floor of the pool) after the first day of our trip. I enjoyed that this was an all inclusive resort but the food options were limited. The buffet is nice but not something that you want to do everyday. They do have a reservation only restarant on site but if you want something different, higher end, it will end up costing you more. We did end up having a beach front dinner on our anniversary, additional cost, but definitely worth it. Two issues that we would like to put out there for others. About 20% of the staff were absolutly wonderul...smiling, welcoming, talkative...made us feel they were happy we were there. The other 80% were not friendly, we felt they were just there to do a job...not smiling, acted like we were bothering them if we needed something out of the ordinary. The other issue would be room maintenance. The toilet in our room would not flush, wasn't filling up with water. We called everyday for 4 days to report the issue, it was never fixed. They send someone to look at it but never fixed it. We filled our toilet tank by filling our ice bucket with water from the bidet."

"The property was extremely clean and the staff was attentive when needed. The inconvenient issues was they continuously run out of towels for the pool and beach, the wait time for a drink at the swim up bar was too long and food options was limited."

The Escape at Nonsuch Bay - Adults Only

10/10 Excellent

"The escape was as peaceful and relaxing as advertised. The rooms were very private, and we loved the en-suite pool. Since the property is quite secluded, it’s ideal for couples looking to unwind rather than for those seeking nightlife or lots of activities. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, and they can help arrange tours and excursions for you. We rented a car and enjoyed exploring Antigua on our own as well. Bring bug repellent, especially for the evenings. The food was excellent. Portions are on the smaller side, but the staff are happy to bring a second serving. Loved the fruity drinks. Overall, a wonderful couples-only getaway exactly as described."

Jolly Beach Antigua - All-inclusive

2/10 Terrible

"This property is extremely dated had terribly maintained. The customer service was shocking with much of the staff surprisingly hostile to guests and just not interested. The attitudes were simply unacceptable for any industry never mind the hospitality industry. The staff need better support and training in hospitality. The location of this ancient hotel with its beach accessible was one of only two positives (the beach is a public beach hence accessible to all called jolly beach - so can be accessed even if not guests). The other positive was the long bar in which Jay and Patrick provided exceptional service. Even they however could not make up for the rest. The gym was dated with old equipment including two non-functional treadmills. In fact dangerous as the one that works suddenly stops causing incidents as you’d crash into the control panel if jogging. Reported it but staff didn’t care and made dismissive comments. The gym has no water nor towels. Wi-Fi was patchy in the resort (none in the gym). Yet they are happy to charge resort fees for the provision of services that don’t work. Rooms are small and full of issues with something or another not working. Very noisy staff shouting and carrying on as if guests don’t matter - this affected rest periods too. Sadly can’t recommend this report for anyone trying to enjoy Antigua."
