"The welcome on arrival was very friendly, helpful and efficient. My luggage was taken to and from my room, which is great. All the staff were very friendly. Meals were lovely, just too much for my appetite. Enjoyed walking and sitting in the grounds too."

"The hotel is very clean, staff very friendly. Unfortunately no air conditioning and when we stayed there was two weddings happening, so all the fans had been given out. The second floor hit you like a heat wave. The room was so hot I woke up feeling sick and spent sometime un tge middle of the night down stairs in the lobby to cool down the heat was unreal un the room, and the lobby had A/C. Thankfully second day we got a fan after I complained it was then bearable.. Breakfast was very nice....

"The room itself is good but basic, was fine for a one night stopover. Self check-in on a tablet. The kettle in the room leaked when we filled it and covered the table in water. The refill station in the check in area for tea & coffee had run out of milk portions with a note saying sorry. We booked a meal in the pub but unfortunately they had run out of all the grill options including steaks, burgers, chicken wings. We had called ahead from Bakewell to book the table 20 minutes previously and...

"One night stay, room(plum porter) much bigger than photos , clean comfy and in keeping with the building. Staff very friendly, beer spot on food good. We didn't want breakfast as we were going for lunch, just. Suited us. Lovely little village, church peaceful, sound of the bells chiming, like going back in time. Nothing we didn't like, beautiful hanging baskets, beer terrace, a very popular, dog friendly pub, thanks."

"Everything about the stay, the room, staff, cleanliness were excellent. The evening meal was also very good and well priced. They only small remark is lack of options for the evening meal, however as noted we really enjoyed what we had. The thing that was not up to scratch I am sorry to say was the full English cooked breakfast. Not very generous. Sausage and beans cold, had to send back. "I reported my room wouldn't lock. The manager came but was unable to sort the matter. I wasn't offered another room as they were fully booked nor was I offered compensation! I slept with the waste bin at an angle so I would hear an intrusion. As a single lady traveller, I won't be going back!"

"Would have given a 5 star review but unfortunately neither me or my wife could have a shower, water would only come out at super hot no matter how I tried to ad cold it just stayed boiling hot. Both had to wash in the sink as a consequence. We were in room 6"

"Very disappointing stay. The room I booked was already occupied when I arrived. I was moved to a smaller room that did not match what I paid for three people, and my children had to find accommodation elsewhere. The place was not very clean and had an unpleasant smell. The kitchen was dirty. I did not even wait for breakfast. I chcked out very early in the morning."

"Absolutely beautiful cottage full of essentials for our stay. The whole setting is stunning with the gardens and surrounding areas. Plenty of local pubs and restaurants close by for food as well as supermarkets to grab snacks for the house. We went to Gulliver’s kingdom 20 mins away and Alton towers 1 hour away across our 2 days stay which were both easily accessible. There is a wide range of sizes of cottage and homes to choose from all of which looked amazing. "
