Hotel Oktogon Haggenmacher

"Love this hotel. It's an easy ride from the main train station and easy to find. The staff at check-in were very nice and helpful. The inside of the hotel is lovely. Our room, a Superior Twin, is small, but the storage, bathroom, and Nespresso machine are well organized to make the best use of the space. There's a big TV mounted on the wall and, something we really appreciated, a small in-room fridge. You can hear a fair amount of hallway noise from other guests coming and going. You can also hear the cleaning staff working in the morning. My only slight complaint is the bathroom. It's nicely tiled, but the tile extends into the shower area. When you pull the shower door open to get in or out, it pushes the bath mat aside, leaving a very slippery wet floor. I slipped getting out of the shower. The location couldn't be better. There's easy access to trams and buses, and it's only a short ride to almost anywhere. There's plenty to eat and do in the immediate area. All in all, we loved our stay and highly recommend this hotel."

"Had a lovely stay, central location, but no city noise at night, the air con in room was amazing during the heatwave. The rooftop pools were a great way to cool down after walking around the hot city. My only comment would be there was no hair conditioner to use in the bathroom. All staff were lovely and helpful. We would definitely stay again."

"Breakfast offer was outrageously expense. If purchasing the breakfast package we had to purchase for entire stay. We were leaving very early on the lay day and didn’t have time for breakfast. At $40 euro per day and we didn’t have time, that’s ridiculous that you couldn’t make an exception. Your other exception was $35 euro EACH for breakfast. I couldn’t eat $35 euro of food. Way overpriced with no other option. Just because of that probably will choose a different hotel next time. You have no flexibility!"

"The hotel was great. The view of Parliament and the Danube were amazing. Great location to walk up to Castle district. Of course it was the beginning of the heat wave and our only complaint was the AC did not really cool the room. It was still pretty warm."

"The hotel is in a great central location, so it was easy to get around and explore the city on foot. The breakfast had plenty of fresh and tasty options, and everything was well stocked each morning. Our room was very clean, and housekeeping did a great job throughout our stay. The only downside was that the room was quite small, and there wasn't much space to unpack or store our clothes. Other than that, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again."
