"The Beau Rivage was a very local hotel. The staff spoke very little English, which is something to be aware of if you don't speak French. The staff were very friendly, but didn't know much about getting around; how to arrange a visit to La Citadelle or the buses to the Dominican Republic. I went to another hotel to arrange this. "I had a great stay and wished that I had stayed longer. The views of the city were spectacular and I highly recommend you take photos of the sunrise over the city. The food was excellent and reasonable. The new owner was a delight to talk to and he informed me that all of his electricity comes from a generator since the city does not provide it. Like everywhere in Cap Haitien, constant A/C is not possible so there are times from around 8:00 pm until the morning when it works well. This hotel is a colorful oasis on the hill and a great place to drink a beer and look out over the city. It is a steep grade up the hill but I walked up and down it and enjoyed to e beautiful murals. I highly recommend staying at this hotel! "
