While on bith occasions we arrived at the hotel well ahead of normal check-in time, we only had to wait a short time until our room was available. This was very good as it was tiring after a long journey. The hotel is convenient for cruising from Southampton as it is only a short distance to the ferry terminal, but the hotel provided a complimentary transfer on the embarkation day. "The location was great, but the hotel itself was very disappointing. There was a smell of cigarette smoke throughout the building. The room was smaller than expected. Bathroom facilities were acceptable. Breakfast was advertised until 10 o’clock in the elevators however that was only Saturday and Sunday hours. It ended earlier on weekdays. Very few options. Coffee, tea, juice, fruit, sliced cheese, sliced meat. No eggs I would not recommend this hotel"

"The breakfast was very good nice selection and it was warm and fresh. Our room was basic but had everything we needed and it was clean. The staff were great. I would definitely recommend this hotel."

"Comfortable room and stay. Leisure facilitates were good. Great sized pool. Main house was beautiful and staff helpful. There appeared to be a lack of signage where the reception was etc. Breakfast was amazing and good value."

"Room was huge - we had the disabled access one. The bathroom is the biggest I’d seen. A few stains on the carpet but they been scrubbed as best they could. Would have liked some bedside lights, ended up using the TV on a scrambled signal to give a little light. Staff were friendly and really helpful. To the point of intervening with parking because it’s free at the weekend. Top tip - if you’re heading to Winchester, get the bus. Bus stop a short walk away, the route I direct, every 10mins....
