"This is not a place for everyone. A very pleasant chalet style house within easy walking distance of everything in Oranjestad. Need a car (about $500 for two weeks to get round the island. Far more interesting than staying in an anonymous hotel and only 2 minutes from the sea. Fred, the owner, was charming and very helpful. So don't stay there if you want pampered luxury, do if you want to explore a fascinating place"

"The views were amazing especially sunsets and sound of waves just footsteps from room. Was disappointed couldn’t access beach but short walk either direction there was an accessible swim area. The water was perfect and no rocks just some seaweed at times not terrible. Rooms are good size nothing fancy in bldg 18 water in sinks drained very slow and coffee maker was broken would have been nice to make coffee in the morning but wasn’t that big of deal. Cleaning ladies didn’t clean room 2 of the 6...

"The Marriot is fantastic if you are looking for a very modern, comfortable place to stay with all the amenities of home. It is first class all the way and you could be in any big city in the world - New York, Paris, London, and not tell the difference. (Except of course for the perfect weather and amazing beaches.) They don’t “lean in” to the Island vibe or feel here at all so if you are looking to continue to wait in line for your morning Starbucks and freeze in overly air conditioned dining...

"I would of rated everytime 5 stars but there was construction of one entire tower which i was not told about. The steakhouse was closef also due to renovations. Our first room which was a junior ocean front view on the 8th floor was horrible, it smelled of mold and mildew, everything was damp from moisture including the bed. It killed my asthma to stay in room. We moved the next day to the 9th floor and room was amazing. Hotel defenitely needs a renovations. Don't lose your wristband because...
