Red Lion Hotel Boise Downtowner

2/10 Terrible

"I booked a 2 queen bed room and when we arrived they had overbooked their rooms and didn’t have one of those rooms available for us. The offered a smaller bed room. We were in a pinch and took it but once we got to the room it solidified it wasn’t going to work for us. The air wasn’t working in the room with far smaller beds and the room was dirty. Between Hotels.com and the manager of the hotel we were able to get a refund on our reservation and go somewhere else. Would not recommend staying here. Avoid the hassle!!"

"I cannot rate the Sparrow more highly. It was clean and spacious. The bed was so comfy and the location is excellent. The best part is the TV setup, as silly as it sounds but I travel often for work and having the ability to stream from my phone is rare. I was thrilled to be able to stream Love Island. Also the robes were so great that I bought for back home! I’d stay here again and again!"

"I am very dissatisfied with my stay at this hotel. During the entire time I was there, I did not receive room service, and it was extremely difficult to get clean towels and fresh sheets when needed. To make matters worse, I was never informed that there would be a $10 per night parking fee. This charge was not clearly communicated at check-in, and I was surprised to see additional charges on my bill. On top of that, my card was charged over $500, which was unexpected and has caused significant frustration. Between the lack of housekeeping, poor communication regarding fees, and the billing issues, this was not the experience I expected. Unfortunately, I would not recommend staying here."

"Come for the convenient downtown location, stay for the concierge, Sean. Have you ever wondered what it's like to have a personal assistant anticipate your needs before you realize you have them? If you're a guest of the hotel and within Sean's field of vision, you will no longer need to wonder. Sean is an absolute powerhouse of guest experience. For my wife and I, he was the best part of our stay at The Grove, and if you have the pleasure of crossing his path, he will be the best part of your stay, as well."

"What a fantastic hotel! The staff was nothing but helpful, the location is gorgeous. They have events going on at all times (live music in multiple areas) so there's always something to do or hear. The hotel's proximity to the river is super cool, you can very quickly take a dip in the river to cool off on hot days. 5/5 experience!"
