"We stayed in the Bootham suite, the room was light and airy and had a lovely small balcony to enjoy the sunshine. The four poster bed was very comfy and there was a small seating area to relax in. Breakfast was very good, everything is a la carte and the staff were very attentive. The hotel is in a great location, very easy walking distance into York but also very quiet and peaceful. The Pantry is a really nice touch but it was a shame that there wasn't a fridge in the room to keep drinks cool....

"The room was tiny but but obviously cared for with so much love. Galtres Lodge just feels like a place that was created with love and intention. Breakfast was wonderful. The bed was comfy and the view was just gorgeous. Absolutely worth the stay!"

"A good but not outstanding stay. The staff are polite and welcoming, the rooms are comfy and clean. The shower pressure was dreadful though and the TV didn’t seem to have streaming services (if it did they weren’t easy to find). There was no bottled water in the room and the kettle/tea making stuff was cheap. For this kind of price point I’d expect a few more luxuries, but it was a perfectly good place to stay in York."

"The staff were very helpful & friendly. The hotel rooms are a bit dated but very clean and the bed very comfortable. The dressing table has no lamp or light nearby, so it is hard to get ready, appying make up as the bathroom light isn't great either. There is a pub across the road which played loud music until 2am plus lots of noise outside first thing because of the main road. Saying that, we enjoyed our stay . The hotel is in a great location close to the sites if you don't mind the noise....

" I loved everything about Judges and would stay there again in a heartbeat! I stayed in a Character Double room. It was extremely spacious, had comfy bed and pillows, a view of the Minister, and a bath to soak in. The amenities are very well thought out and made me feel cared for (fluffy robe and slippers, washcloths, complimentary sparkling water and chocolates, quality bathroom products, and eye mask and earplugs - didn't need them because it was very quiet at night). "I is a very quaint hotel close to the city center. The room was small but comfortable. The pearling lot was quite tight and the entry gates are very narrow but all of it was very charming. We were only there 1 night and it served its purpose well. The staff were delightful!"

"The room was meant to be soundproof but could hear next door for starters, then we seen it wasn’t a king size bed but two single beds put together which wasn’t very comfortable to say the least. Also two of the rooms I’d say are used for permanent residence. Then passing pedestrians through the night was noisy was irritating to say the least. We couldn’t work the heating system for the room. "clean room, but the shower was broken to begin with, but fixed after 20 minutes, and loud, drunk guest at 2 am one night, which kept me up for 3 hours, but I did not say anything at the time, with i would not want to deal with such people at 2 am, so can not blame them with just wanting to sleep at the time and did not do anything my self.
