We found the Cavana hotel to be very nice. The staff were excellent - so friendly and helpful. We had 2 double beds, very comfortable room, decent space, clean bathroom, good water pressure, etc. The hotel was easily walkable to the San Blas area (10 min) for dinner and the historic district for the day (20+ min). The room was a little cool, but they provided a space heater which made things comfortable.
After a long trek and due to train strike at Macchu Picchu, I booked this hotel last minute. The property was very quiet, clean with hot shower. The breakfast was very good with fresh juice and hot options. Overall it was a very good stay -I wanted to be at a quiet area walkable to main square. They property was just right for that. They even stored my bags.
We had a good stay here. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Lovely quiet roof top breakfast room with beautiful views of Cusco. Breakfast buffet is basic but very good, all you need and the breakfast staff great.
It’s quite basic but very clean and modern. It’s at the top of San Blass, so if you are not into walking you can take an uber from the main square for under 10 soles. No traffic noise but the dogs do bark during the night! We loved the San Blass area. If you are not a five star traveler, I would recommend for sure.
This is a wonderful place with a staff that really care. They are currently remodeling and when they are done it will be fantastic. Rooms were clean and straight forward from what they offered. The staff always willing to help make our stay better. We had an early day tour and they offered to arrange a to-go snack/breakfast. They helped facilitate laundry service. We had some issues with the hot water and they responded immediately to get it taken care of.
The hotel is located just off of the main square of San Blas so there are a ton of food options and also very close to the Jesus statue and bell tower overlooking the city. They have their own top floor for food service with an incredible view of Cusco.
Quiet neighborhood far away enough from bustling Plaza de armas but close enough to walk. Important to note that it is perched atop a hill so we did uber a few times on nights we were extra tired
Front desk and breakfast area staff were kind and nice. Room was very comfortable and cozy. I love the softness of the pillows and the force of the water from the shower, was energizing. The walk to the Plaza de Armas was a little long, but doable. The area was safe.
Cavana Hotel – Cusco
Highlights:
Fantastic views from the upstairs restaurant, which is very nice and well designed.
Excellent location—walking distance to most sights in Cusco and only a 10–15 minute drive from the airport.
Very affordable compared to similar options.
Downsides:
Neighborhood can be a bit noisy.
Rooms are fairly basic—comfortable but nothing special.
The hotel is very new (only about 2 months old as of August 2025), so some aspects still feel like they’re settling in (i.e. bar not yet open).
We had a great time - it's a fantastic place to stay for a few nights!
We had a decent enough stay, but there were a lot of little things that detracted from the experience. No floor mat for after a shower, the shampoo/body soap dispensers we’re not inserted before we checked into the room, the toilet was not the most clean, and the “box breakfast” they offered for early mornings was not good (just a plain cheese sandwich, piece of fruit, and juice). Also, the breakfast time is listed as 6-9am, but they claim it does not start till after 6:30am, which made so we could only have the continental breakfast 1 out of our 3 mornings there. Also, when we first got there they said we had not paid when we most definitely did. It was sorted out within a few minutes, but seemed rather unprofessional. Beware the rooms are very cold and there is no heater offered.
Pros: continental breakfast is very nice with a beautiful view. Decent location with 15 minute walk to historic center. Luggage storage is offered for free. Most of the staff is nice.
As this hotel is newer, we were hoping for a better experience. Definitely room for improvement.
The room was so lovely, and extremely clean. The beds were comfortable and there were extra heavy blankets available as nights can get chilly. The big windows open up during the day so you can hear the waterfall across the street. The location is perfect, close to a lot of restaurants and hot spots easy to walk to. There is the Cuevas de Mosoqllaqta also across the street (archeological site) which is a nice early morning or end of day walk to do. The roof top breakfast restaurant is lovely, with beautiful views. Would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend to everyone.
