About as central as you get in Cologne

Lovely hotel very central to Cologne, about 10m walk to train station. Room large, clean but no kettle or iron. Arrived late so had to get key from lockbox which was not easy as it was dark

I stayed at Bucholz Downtown Hotel during my recent visit to Cologne for the Christmas Markets. The hotel is very conveniently located near the HBF and near the walking path along the river. The hotel breakfast was very nice...not extensive but a nice way to start you day and served by a friendly staff. The hotel is older and a bit dated but clean with good mechanicals. I am a solo female traveler...the street was a bit dark for me at night when walking alone. Also, the hotel desk is not staffed overnight. I would recommend this hotel but I do not think it is appropriate for older, solo female travelers. Enjoy and safe travels!

Great location for Christmas market visit

Very convenient location, one block from the river, a 10-13 minute walk to the train station, the cathedral and art museum. There were 4-5 Christmas markets within walking distance of the hotel. The breakfast was served in a beautifully decorated breakfast room. It was a typical German breakfast, a substantial continental breakfast. The bathroom was very clean and had a large and excellent shower with plenty of hard water. The bed was comfortable although might be hard for some. There is free wifi but it wasn’t always a good signal. It is a small hotel and, although there is an elevator, most of the rooms require going up or down about 10 steps. Room 20 and 16 (I believe) are on the same floor as the elevator.

Very friendly staff. Small boutique hotel, but i stay here everytime I go to Cologne. IRS clean, tidy and walking distance to train, river and mall.

This is a family owed hotel and for that reason my parents and me enjoyed our stay so much. Friendly staff, great breakfast and even a doggie that you can pet if you want. The owner is an older lady and she was the one that took care of us during breakfast. She was amazing.

Clean, super comfortable hotel with a small lift.

The hotel owner's mom (a Welsh) is very nice and generous offering us complimentary coffee upon arrival while waiting for our room. Hotel is conveniently located at city's main attractions, especially the Cologne Cathedral. All within walking distance. Room is very spacious and breakfast superb. Highly recommended. If i come again, I will choose this same hotel.

Das kleine Hotel hat von einem Boutique Hotel leider nix. Die Zimmer sind Klein. TV sehr klein und die Einrichtung ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Einige Dinge funktionieren nicht mehr richtig. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Frühstück ausreichend und die Wünsche werden erfüllt. Der Weg zum Musical Dome ist kurz auch die Altstadt fussläufig zu erreichen. Zum Rhein sind es auch nur wenige Meter. Also das kleine Hotel liegt gut. Der kleine Aufzug lässt kein Raum zur Angst.
