Disappointingly dirty, refurb due

Despite booking in advance, room not serviced adequately and dirty. Bins not emptied, poor bed linen that looked like it had not been changed. Bath flaking and not fit for use. Chair broken and dangerous. Curtains hanging off. Bins not emptied. Manager DID however rectify chair immediately, and when room conditions revealed, I was given full refund. Generally refurb required and stricter housekeeping. Staff friendly, so I was sad that I had to complain.

There was only a half of toilet roll so we had to ask the front desk for another roll. The room and the building had lots of cob web. We stayed two days, they didn’t come to clean our room second day. TV only had two channels. Shower power was very poor.

Nice weejend break

Great location. A nice little town with lots of nice pubs and shops to take a wander around. You can get the bus to Oxford in about 40 mins. Hotel staff were friendly especially the waiter. Food was nice and reasonably priced. Hotel itself is a bit tired and in need of redecoration. Smimming pool is small.

A gem of a place to stay.

This Coaching Inn has a charm all of it's own. That mix of highly patterned carpets, a bar area with nooks and crannies, friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. The bedrooms are quaint with comfy beds but if you are a light sleeper don't stay on the front. The lorries start coming through the village about 5:30 am!!!

The room was quite old the bed had bed bugs i was put at the top floor there was no lift. On departure no one at reception. Had to shout to get someone's attention. There was no detail of the location of the car park. Totally disappointed

Breakfast was good and plentyful. Staff were helpful. Room dated and had a very strange lighting arrangement, you had to go to by the bed (in the dark) to switch a light on. Swimming pool was good, but changing rooms are not clean and look very unloved.

The staff were very helpful and the pub had a good atmosphere, but the room was very tired, they had been drilling in the wall to mount new wall lamps and left the plaster dust all over the bed, there was mold on the walls, ceilings and curtains and the place smelt strongly of damp

There was black bugs in the bathroom and bedroom, it was brought to the management attention and they didnt care about it at all. We received some not all of our money back, but that was after a lot of arguing, we would recommend any one stay there until it cleaned properly, i will be talking to thd local environmental health about this hotel .
