"Don’t get me wrong, it’s rustic and charming with an interesting history and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was made to order and Sunday roast was impressive. All that’s good, but wear earplugs if you’re planning to get any sleep! The mattress was saggy and had very pokey springs. The location made it very noisy - weekends there are people partying in the streets until 3am and Monday at 4:30am the street-cleaner starts cleaning the block. "Room was clean, staff were friendly, breakfast buffet was good."

"Good location, not far from all attractions. The car park on-site is convenience. The hotel provides a small breakfast but delicious. They also have complimentary coffee and tea which is very nice."

"The room was small but cozy, just right for a single. The television was disappointing, as there seemed to be only one movie channel with old B movies. The staff were very pleasanr and helpful. The breakfast was very good with a large variety of choices. The location is excellent for exploring the city center or shopping, very near the East Gate in the city walls."

"Lovely hotel clean room brilliant staff, central location can walk anywhere"

"Stayed here on a Thursday overnighter with my hubby, it doesn't look much from outside, but step inside and what a little gem! This place has just 3 rooms, ours was immaculate and I'm sure it was a higher standard than your average pub hotel. We had a delicious full cooked breakfast made for us the following morning. Free parking nearby (...

"Lovely spacious clean room, with great bath towels and toiletries. The staff are very friendly, easy to chat too and helpful. The Full English breakfast was delicious and My Wife tried Scramble Eggs with Smoked Salmon, which She really enjoyed. Situated ideally for Chester City centre and for us a very pleasant walk to the Zoo. Highly recommended and will be back!!"
