Merica Hotel locates in a small alleyway near the center of Chengdu. The room is small, but we had our best meal in a restaurant next door.

Small new hotel, with small amount of facilities, but they offer all the key stuff. The wifi was great and the laundry facilities are fantastic and totally free. Much better than many big hotels. Right above an excellent restaurant, good spot to try Sichuanese cuisine.

Really enjoyed my stay which was above expectations. The room is on the smaller side but definitely fine for one person and probably for a couple too. Everything inside the room seemed new and clean and in good working order. The location is super central, withing walking distance to the main attractions downtown. During the day the area is quite busy and a little noisy, but at night it quietened down and I had no problems sleeping. Plenty of good food options around too. Overall, very happy with the all aspects and would happily stay again.

The Merica Hotel Chengdu Changxi Road is an excellent value for the cost. Rooms with windows are very small. Rooms without windows are much larger, but do not offer any extra storage or seating vs rooms with windows. Easy walk to shopping, food, and several museums and park.
