Depending on where you're coming from, your flight to Pulau Aur could be completely painless or it could go on forever. We've pulled together some handy travel tips that will help you start your next unforgettable escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you take the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and don't forget to bring a cardigan as the temperature can drop inside the cabin. Enclosed, flat shoes are always a good choice too.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long-haul is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To avoid this, make the most of every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help reduce this risk.
