"The Porto Veniziano Hotel is absolutely perfect. Located at the western end of the harbour in Chania, it is perfectly located to access the entire waterfront with all the bustling restaurants and tavernas, as well as the Old Town with its winding alleys. The hotel is clean and bright and extremely well looked after with very friendly and helpful staff. Their Waterfront tables provide a lovely setting for breakfasts which are fabulous with a choice of hot breakfasts or a huge selection of cereals, fruits, bakery items, cold meats, yogurt and cheeses. The rooms are well proportioned and very well appointed, modern, clean and immaculate. I would happily stay there again."

We initially chose this hotel because of its fascinating history and unique character, but what truly made our stay exceptional was the people. Even before we arrived, it was clear that guest experience here is not just a job—it is a genuine passion shared by the entire team. A special thank you to Orfeas and Eleni from Guest Experience, who consistently went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Whether it was arranging transport, helping us adapt our plans around a particularly windy day, or securing excellent restaurant reservations, nothing was ever too much trouble. Their local knowledge, professionalism, and enthusiasm made a huge difference to our trip. Chrissy and Margarita were equally wonderful—warm, welcoming, and always ready with a smile. Every interaction felt personal and sincere, which created a genuinely special atmosphere throughout our stay. The breakfast deserves particular praise. It was exceptional in both quality and variety, offering a fantastic selection of traditional local dishes alongside familiar favourites. It was the perfect way to start each day and reflected the same attention to detail that is evident throughout the hotel. SanSal Boutique Hotel – Adults & Children 11+

"Had the most amazing time here at Sansal Chania Crête, the staff are amazing and so friendly, this is our first visit to Crete Sansal and we definitely will return, the roof top pool and bar was an added bonus, at times we had the whole pool area to ourselves which was fabulous, the bar staff were very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Breakfast was superb, cereals, cooked breakfast, pastries, jams, nuts, continental breakfast as well, fresh orange juice, choice of hot beverages. Staff speak excellent English so excellent communication. Our room had a sea view which we never tired off, the road the hotel is on was quiet at night although it did have traffic it never affected our stay, the room was cleaned every day and they did a fabulous job. Location of hotel was perfect 10 min walk to local port where all the tavernas are, we also had a meal at the hotel which was reasonably priced and great quality. Then 10-15 minute walk in opposite direction was the beach, plenty of sun beds to rent plus excellent service on the beach for drinks and food. Only 30 minutes from Chania airport which we contacted Sansal before we arrived and they organised the taxi shuttle for us, which went very smoothly. Glass boat trip was worth the money too, would recommend the hop on hop off bus trip which picks you up practically outside the hotel, we enjoyed sitting on the bus for 90 mins sight seeing. Very peaceful tranquil holiday spent here in Chania,"
