Great host, multi lingual, welcoming, great sense of humour. Unique, quirky, property. Lovely village location with river/canal walks nearby. Great breakfast. Ideal overnight stop.

Perfect location in a quiet village a short distance from Chaumont. Very comfortable accommodation in a quaint traditionally French hotel and a very good host. The continental breakfast was excellent with homemade jams and good bread and croissants. Over all, a great place to stay.

Lovely overnight stay with great food in resturant

My wife and myself stayed overnight on the way to skiing in the Alps. and the location was perfect at just about half way from London. Just south of the main town of Chaumont the Hostellerie is in a beautiful little village just off the main road. I would strongly suggest getting there early enough to eat in the resturant; partly because the food was excellent and partly because there is nowhere else nearby without getting back in the car. The host, Frederick , has many years experience in the hospitality business and it shows with his polite, inviting and relaxed manner. A lovely man who runs a tight ship. (His English is also excellent if that is important). We usually try to go somewhere different each time we drive to the Alps but may well make an exception for this place with a pretty morning stroll and sightseeing available nearby if you want. (Viaduct and Charles de Gaulle monument e.g.). We didn't stay for breakfast but we never do, a bit odd handing the key over the night before rather than a key box but hey ho!

Très bon accueil, je suis arrivé avant l'heure d'ouverture et on ouvert pour que je n'attende pas dehors. Chambre spacieuse et confortable, petit bemol pour la sdb au niveau douche. Le plat du jour a 15€ est excellent et copieux ( risotto volaille champignons. J'ai passé un court mais très agreable sejour.

Chambre sympa au second et dernier étage .. attention à l’escalier . Chambre spacieuse et pratique. L’ensemble baignoire/douche pourrait être transformé en un douche moderne plus pratique. Cadre de l’hôtel restaurant rustique et cuisine honorable.

Excellent séjour

Très agréablement surprise de l'accueil qui était très convivial. De plus, on ne nous remets pas uniquement les clés en main puis plus rien. Nous sommes accompagner jusqu'à la chambre ce qui est très appréciable. La chambre était très spacieuse, joliment décorée et bien entretenue. Petit plus : un ventilateur était à disposition dans la chambre, ce qui était vraiment indispensable pendant cette canicule ! La literie était très confortable, j'ai dormi comme un bébé. Le petit déjeuner était simple mais largement suffisant pour ma part (oeuf dur, gâteau maison, pain, confitures, fruits, yaourt, compote) Merci beaucoup pour votre accueil et ce que vous proposez à vos clients, c'était un réel plaisir de séjourner ici ! Je reviendrais avec plaisir !

Personnel excellent, confort perfectible

La chambre était spacieuse et le personnel très aimable, à l’écoute et particulièrement professionnel, ce que j’ai beaucoup apprécié. Cependant, la décoration mériterait un rafraîchissement : la chambre semblait dater des années 90/2000. Elle était située sous les combles, ce qui accentuait fortement la chaleur. La climatisation, centralisée et activée uniquement sur demande, a été coupée durant la nuit par la direction, sans doute pour éviter un excès de fraîcheur. Malheureusement, la température n’a pas eu le temps de suffisamment baisser entre l’activation et l’arrêt, ce qui a rendu la nuit inconfortable. La literie était correcte, mais sans plus.. Concernant le petit-déjeuner, il était satisfaisant pour les amateurs de sucré, avec un bon choix de viennoiseries et de douceurs. En revanche, l’offre salée était très limitée : uniquement quelques œufs durs, du pain et du fromage. Un peu plus de variété serait appréciable pour ceux qui préfèrent un petit-déjeuner salé.
