"Very comfortable and welcoming place! A real hidden gem not too far away from the city. The house and property and gorgeous, the breakfast is big and delicious, and the programs that they run are great. I attended a Reiki circle that I found very helpful and relaxing. The shiatsu massage chairs are also excellent. I would return and I will recommend Rising Star!"

"Bugs, mold, smoke. Felt sketchy on arrival but gave it a chance due to all the good reviews and because we were exhausted. Lots of guys smoking right outside the door and pot smoke smell in the room. Visible mold in the bathroom (window, bath plug). Dirty kettle and fridge interior. Tried using the stove burner but burning smell started filling the room. As soon as the lights went out I felt something crawling on my arm, turned on the lights and it was a cockroach. Another cockroach on the floor...

"Suite was homely and cozy, downtown Peterborough is fairly accessible by car, and convenience store right down the road. The property has a beautiful garden visible from the patio with lots of birds visiting for those into birdwatching. Host was knowledgeable about attractions in the area, recommending multiple places for us to visit."

"Stayed one night for a soccer tournament. Was exactly what I was expecting....clean, comfortable and hot shower. Rooms have a TV and fridge. Microwave is on the main floor. No it doesn't have breakfast nor a pool but you know that when you book. Staff was great especially the owner or manager I met this morning. She was very kind. Your paying the lowest price around and your still getting a great hotel. Will return"

"I have no issue with hotel rooms with run down, tacky furniture - especially when the price is right - but there is no excuse for the room being dirty. Although the hosts were friendly, they need to change how they clean. And if they can’t get the gross dirt off the cabinets and furniture - replace it! If we weren’t just using the room to sleep, I would have left and found a way to seek my money back from Expedia. At least sheets were fresh and soft. I just didn’t enjoy the feeling that I needed...

"This is an older hotel - motel. Have to travel between buildings which is a little hassle. Breakfast was fine but could be improved. Staff were friendly and pool was fun. Would stay again given the price ($420 taxes in for two nights)"
