"Great Hotel staff, helped a lot at the check in (Expedia was a complete mess, complicated, not organized and let the customer down!). Hotel Grif is in the middle of a cute town of Cosenza (incl. some loading stations for electric vehicles in the near), nice smart breakfast, super understanding of service & great hotel staff which loves to serve you incl. live for animals! "The language barrier was definitely an issue. We were greeted in the street by the off-site host who was upset that we were planning to check out early even though we said we were paying for the extra night and despite the fact that we had emailed June 22nd that we had to shorten our stay. This is not a typical B & B. It consists of 4 rooms and a shared kitchenette on the same floor as 2 private apartments in a multi-story building above the pedestrian area. No blow dryer or iron is provided....

Ariha Hotel Cosenza

"Everything about the hotel was absolutely wonderful!!!! However, one evening we were stranded out on Corsa Mazzini and we called the hotel. The gentleman that was on duty. It was very late at night around 1 AM. Did call a cab to come and pick us up however, when we arrived at the hotel, he asked for a tip which took a by surprise. We did indeed paid the cab driver who was such a gentleman I just found it very odd that someone working at reception would ask to be tipped. All I had on me was a few coins and he clearly said are you sure you don’t have some bills? We did let him know. We don’t carry much money on us as we always use our credit card. I thought the whole encounter was very bizarre."

"We had problems with our train journey and eventually decided to make an unplanned stay somewhere near Paola station overnight and try again the next day. The nearest place we could find was Hotel Cliche so we just booked it... and we can't believe how lucky we were! The staff here were the most genuinely friendly and helpful people you could possibly hope for. They arranged to collect us from the station and when we got to the hotel we enjoyed a really relaxing evening having pizza and a drink in their restaurant / bar area. The atmosphere was really chilled with some locals at the bar too and we soon forgot our train woes. The room was great and we had a very comfortable and quiet night followed by plentiful breakfast the next day. The hotel then arranged a taxi for us back to the station and we continued on our way. THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone at Hotel Cliche for such a warm welcome and all your help. You turned a difficult day into a very enjoyable and memorable part of our Italian holiday!"

"I did a 28 night backpacking trip through Europe & had the privilege of staying here for 2 of those nights. If I could’ve cancelled the rest of my trip & stayed here the whole time, I would’ve. It was the mostly beautiful & authentic italian experience. Maria Theresa was an excellent host - she is always available to help, made sure checks-in was easy & made my stay unforgettable. There is also a beautiful restaurant right around the corner that serves the most amazing italian food. It is delicious. & you even get to have Maria Theresa as your server. Stay here if you have the opportunity. Do not pass it up."

"Reception and staff were all very pleasant and friendly. When the safe’s alarm went off because of low batteries, they promptly came and serviced it. The bathroom itself was fairly small. The shower had a bit of mold, and the shower doors did not completely close. It was also a fairly small shower, with barely enough room to turn around in it. Water pressure was decent. The only toiletries provided was from the wall-mounted soap dispenser. The bed was extremely firm, as were all the pillows (not to taste). There was parking in front of the hotel, and it was easy to get in and out of. It was close to multiple restaurants, easily walkable."
