"A one night stay prior to a holiday. The hotel is dated but clean. The room was spacious and had what we needed. The staff were amazing and very helpful. It is what you have paid for and we would stay again for a night if we needed a quick stop. "

"From arrival to departure- this was a great stay. The staff were brilliant. Very friendly and helpful on arrival; always smiling and chatty. The grounds and gardens are very nice to walk around. The pool and leisure club are easy to access. All very clean and tidy. Again staff in the leisure club were brilliant. There’s a cosy wee bar left of reception, which does a cracking pint. Breakfast was fantastic, the staff very friendly and welcoming. They got everything spot on, and it was one of the nicest hotel breakfast experiences I think we’ve had. Local area is great for access to Edinburgh and shops/restaurants. Charging in car park is easy to use through app and trouble free. We are coming back as soon as we can!"

"Was given room 6 which is right next to the stairwell. Was noisy into the wee hours. Did not get a good night's sleep. The hotel was clean and staff was nice. They did let me check in an hour early and carried my luggage up the stairs for me as there is no lift."

"Needs an a upgrade to carpets and stuff Very old so creating lots of dust and not good for anyone with asthma "

"Very friendly staff , food was lovely . Stayed in the new build facilities , rooms were very well presented and in an art deco style . Looking forward to the new build spa opening in September, we’ll be back "

"Breakfast was disappointing.Only cooked breakfast on offer. No choice for those who dont like cooked. No fresh fruit at all . No continental option ie cheese or meat which was offered on previous stays. "
