Some great restaurants fairly nearby, and some that require stairclimbing stamina. Villa Silia is fabulous, but be aware that it, like a lot of Capri, is not for mobility limited individuals. Capri is best seen walking or in a boat."

"We had a fantastic stay for 8 days. The staff was extremely hospitable and friendly. They called for us to have a taxi to go to different meeting places for our tours everyday. They recommended local restaurants that were sooo delicious. The nighttime views at the rooftop bar was extraordinary and the bar staff were so friendly. Only one suggestion. The shower should have a support bar to hold on to if necessary. The floor is very slippery since it is marble."

"The hotel has lovely, bright rooms with sea views, which we really enjoyed. Breakfast is typical of a four-star hotel, with freshly squeezed juice and eggs cooked to order available. The swimming pool is quite large, and it was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Unfortunately, the pool is not heated, which was our biggest disappointment. The water is too cold for comfortable swimming, and we didn’t see anyone using it. The hotel’s location is excellent."

"The location of the Excelsior is superb, overlooking the Bay of Naples. If you have the port side rooms you wake up to Vesuvius across the Bay and can watch its many moods throughout the day. On the roof top terrace you can watch the lights turn on in the city and see Vesuvius become a presence that is hard to ignore. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and we needed it after 12 days of negotiating the cobblestone streets of the Amalfi Coast, averaging 6 miles a day, and we're senior citizens! This hotel holds a special place in my heart. The breakfast alone is worth staying here! The staff was super nice. The hotel is a piece of old Italian luxury and has to be experienced."
