My experience at Hampton Inn & Suites NW Calgary was the worst I’ve had in all my travels. I had a confirmed “Pay at Property” reservation via Expedia. But on arrival, Jamie at the front desk told me it was canceled due to a “payment issue.”
No one contacted me—no call, no email. My credit card is in good standing, and I was never told why the charge was attempted in advance, let alone why it failed.
When I asked to honor my original rate, Jamie refused and told me to rebook at a higher price. He rudely said, “It’s not my problem—deal with Expedia.” When I requested a manager, he said they were at home and unreachable. Things escalated quickly—he became aggressive and told my family and me to leave or he'd call the police.
My child was terrified. We were stranded in a new city, treated not just with indifference but hostility. Later, I found reviews reporting similar behavior from Jamie—clearly, this isn’t an isolated incident.
This experience has severely damaged my trust in Hilton. We’ll never return and urge other travelers to avoid this location.
As for Expedia, they offered no meaningful support beyond suggesting I rebook at the higher rate. No accountability from either party.
