Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns
Nice enough hotel but not 5 star. It is very tired and needs a renovation. The decor has been updated but everything else is very dated. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a great location on the marina. Room was clean and beds comfortable.

The pool is beautiful, unfortuanely it was a bit windy, but you cannot control the weather. Great facilities, including a pool bar, plenty of lounges around the pool. Southern Cross Atrium Apartments
The apartment has no elevator. We stayed at 3rd floor and was hard to carry heavy luggage to it. The AC is not cool at all. I don't recommend the 3rd floor living especially during the hot summer due to AC inefficiency.

Sea Change Beachfront Apartments
We had a lovely time at Sea Change- we got a two bedroom poolside room which was great- sit on the balcony, open the gate and plunge into the pool!
