Comfortable stay near to the centre.

Comfortable hotel very close to the centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking available in hotel (€14) but for free in evenings on nearby quayside. Free WiFi fast and reliable (84Mb). Excellent breakfast(€21 full or €10 express formula). Surprised by size and facilities of Caen - usually bypass on way to and from Ouistreham. Definitely worth a visit. Loads of restaurants and bars near the hotel with a lively vibe in the evening.

Our room was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast buffet was better than any we have ever seen. Think of a breakfast food you would like--it was there; eggs, toast, pastry, bacon, ham, cereal, yogurt, two kinds of butter, several kinds of fruit, and machines that offered a full range of coffee types. Best of all, however, was the helpfulness of the staff. They greeted us warmly when we checked in and directed out tour guide into the dining room to meet us. We asked where we might find a pharmacy to by some band-aids, and they went into the back room and brought us enough that we didn't need to buy any.

Perfect Spot

What a beautiful Hotel... lovely size room, comfortable bed, and all spotlessly clean. Secure parking was nice, albeit €14 and a little tight to navigate, especially with a bike rack. If it had been any busier we probably wouldn't have got a space as its shared with the Ibis next door. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The staff didn't appear talkative or too happy - maybe they don't like late arrivals but hey. Overall a good stay, and the bonus was a late night drink on the quay opposite

Inadequate pre advice

Check in was quick and informative. All the information we needed was provided. Breakfast was good with plenth of choice. The room was clean and comfortable. Location wSvery good with restaurants and bars close at hand. My big gripe is about the parking arrangements. I was advised that i could not book before arrival but clear dorections were provided. What was not advised was the fact that headroom in the underground car park was restricted to 2metres, and there was no signage at the entrance. My car with roof box is 2.2m. Once down the ramp and having scraped the top of the box i was obliged to remove the box before i could go further. I had to leave the car park, refit the box, and park in an unsecured public park. Response at reception was less than helpful.
