We had great rooms with a great view of the fells. The spa is wonderful. I had a fantastic afternoon in the gym and pool then relaxed with a book with occasional trips to the outdoor spa. "We LOVED our stay here! Our room was the “Grand Room, 1 King Bed, Balcony, Garden View” in the newer building and the attention to detail was exceptional. Loved the large comfy bed, our cozy robes, the deep bathtub and accompanying luxury toiletries and bath soaking salts. The WiFi was fast and the staff members were fantastic. It was a close walk into town and close to everything you could want to explore in the Lakes District. Very cool how the hotel provides wellies (Hunter Boots) for guests...

"Have stayed at Briery Wood many times over the last 7 years or so. Consistently good, spotless bathrooms, fabulous breakfast and really excellent restaurant. Reasonably priced for the terrific standard. But the staff are exceptional. Friendly, professional and well trained. We like that they keep the staff on through the winter and chatting with the housekeeper found she is in her 21st year. Many of the others there 10 years +. That says a lot about a business for me. Also very dog...
