"Room needed updated very grubby. View out window YUK, awful showed the need for repair. Staff were lovely , breakfast poor lots of people complaining. The spa was nice although when you book and pay its not clear that you cannot use the other "spa" areas which would be included anywhere else I've been, you have to pay extra to relax on the stone beds and spa pool. Could use the swimming pool but it was full of kids :("

"First of all the cleaning was 💯/ since I last stayed there (6 months ) I have been going to this hotel for 5 years and I know this as always been a problem so well done to the cleaners. All staff were polite and always had a smile and a chat which Is good as shows interest with the people they have staying with them Lovely cooked breakfast buffet style and good selection of cereal and jams if you wanted some on your toast.. I had an enjoyable stay in a 🌊 view room Thankyou Nathan for you and your team who made my stay enjoyable especially as I came on my own this time.."

"I booked a single room with twin bed but upgraded to a double bed and got a better room. The room itself was quite dark, except for first thing in the morning when the sun lit up the room and the bathroom, which was nice. The bedroom had only one central light (quite dark) and one bedside light, with no lighting over by the desk where the kettle/tea/coffee were, which was a little awkward. The bathroom was very nice, light, airy and spacious. The room itself was up and down a lot of stairs, along winding corridors with creaky floors, but the reason I chose this hotel was because it is hundreds of years old and has character, so I expected that! I was very disappointed with the internet, for a couple of reasons. One is that this is one of the few hotels I’ve stayed in recently that has open, unsecured internet, which is not good. The other is that it was very frustratingly intermittent and many everyday websites were simply not available, including the hotel’s own website! When I could get on a website or into my e-mails, one time it would be on and the next few minutes it would be off again, then back on, then off, even though it should me as still being connected!. Very frustrating. Perhaps this was because of the location of my room in the hotel and it being so old and having very thick walls? Anyway, I would recommend the hotel, as long as you know about the quirks. I liked the free parking and the hotel is located in nice private grounds, which is nice."

"Wanting a lovely weekend away with my wife to be, having a not so pleasant experience. Our first room we was given was dirty and not maintained at all to a good cleanliness standard at all. Complain at reception they did upgrade us to another room however this was still dirty and not what i was expecting at all. Would never return again."
