Beautiful old buildings and setting in near the fantastic village of Beynac-et-Cazenac. The from was alrge with fantastic views and interior. The bathroom in our room as down the hall, and small but most rooms had internal ensuits.Staff were very frindy and helpful and the continental breakfast was great, with tasty local foods. This place woud suit a relaxed longer stay to enjoy the region. We especially enjoyed the Rouffignac Cave , a 45 min drive away.

No on around to check in!!! No way to get our room
We arrived well before the check in of 5pm. The house was locked up and no one around. The property is isolated in the countryside and there was no one to ask how we check in. We had been traveling all day and were tired. The kitchen door was open and it said to call a number. We called three times and got someone’s vouce mail. Meanwhile we waited over an hour and a half. Then someone came to the adjacent house to use the pool and we asked them if they knew how we could check in. After several calls they (who were friends of someone who might know something) told us tg bane of our room and showed us where it was. These people were not employees just friends vacationing in the town from Spain. Thank gid for them. We were pretty upset Aurora who manages these cottages never bothered to leave us a note in the kitchen tells my where our room was. She supposedly manages these properties (there’s several cottages nearby) and the owners live in Paris. I guess she doesn’t care to wait for people to check in. We had confirmed reservations and had to talk to strangers that drive by. Eventually even the pool people came by and we asked if they knew anyone on the property. They called and got voice mail also. Eventually we got a text from Aurora who speaks pretty broken English something about her phone was in her car? Really?? Maybe Aurora should travel to a foreign country and be in the middle of the countryside with no one to contact to get her room. You failed on this one.
Charming, Rustic Accommodations with Smiling Staff
We have visited the Dordogne twice before this trip, and enjoyed the towns along the river. The location of this place was up a winding one car-width road (although we never had a problem the two nights we were there), and it was a little concerning at first, but our experience was perfectly fine and we never had any problems getting to or from La Rossillonie. The pool was wonderful after a hot afternoon, and we enjoyed how close we were to Beynac, Breakfasts were tasty and we liked the chance to talk with other guests. The staff was delightful and helpful.
Charming, clean, avcommodation. If you ste to arrive at night.... get specific and detailed instructions... as the roads and site are dark and very hard to navigate to. Lock box difficult to find... make sure your phone battery is full... use your flashlight...
