"This is the rare 5-star B&B that actually earns its rating. The house is a beautiful, art filled home where attention is paid to every detail. The host and hostess are lovely and their entire focus is on making their guests' stay comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious and abundant. "Beautiful location. Fantastic views and great walks. Attention to detail in our room. Wine glasses, cork screw etc. Excellent toiletries. Best breakfast with plenty of variety that I have had in any B&B we have stayed in. Attentive host with lots of local information provided. Pub within walking distance 1.5 miles. "We stayed at The Doghouse Inn for two nights with my partner and our dog, and we had a great experience. Check-in was simple and quick. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. It had everything we needed, and we felt really welcome from the moment we arrived. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our dog was treated like a guest too, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a lovely stay and we would definitely come back."

"Property is in a great position and is great value for money. Room 12 was spacious and comfy. Eclectic furnishings add a quirky feel to the place. Would definitely stay again if I was in the area. "

"I only needed it for one night business. The host was friendly and the price was very reasonable considering it had its own ensuite. It's a little out if the centre but only 15mins walk from St Leonard train station. "

"This was a fun place to stay while visiting the battle field. The village was very interesting with many small shops. The room appeared to be recently renovated and staying above a pub was a fun experience. The pub itself was also excellent. Our only complaint was lack of air conditioning...which resulted in us opening a window...and listening to traffic (the road out front is very busy) All-in-all, I would strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area"
