I had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. The linen, bathroom and room were clean and the room very spacious. The reception staff were friendly, helpful and informative. The carpets in my room and hallway and the bathroom need an upgrade. It was also unfortunate that I had noisy neighbours to the side and above me, so I think there isn’t much soundproofing.

Nice place outside of central Berlin. Decent walk to public transportation. Walls are thin and rooms and hallways had many questionable stains on the carpet.

Nice Place

The hotel was nice. The breakfast was good. The staff was courteous and helpful. Just be aware if you stay here that Lichtenberg isn’t a particularly nice part of Berlin. If you drive a car here, be prepared to have a challenge finding parking nearby. Also, one of the nights in May that we were there was a Saturday and it was warm in spite of the rain, so we had to keep the window open. Our room faced the street and every 20-30 minutes there were first responders’ sirens all night long. There were also people making a lot of noise and smoking under our window. One other thing is that there wasn’t anyplace for my daughter and I to put our clothes for our three nights, so we had to keep everything in our suitcase. It was kind of inconvenient for us Americans, but that’s the German in hotels. The hotel is a few blocks from the Stasi Museum, which is a cool place to visit if you like history, and one block further is an U-Bahn station, and the brown line goes right to the Brandenburg Gate. It’s about a 20-minute ride. There are also a couple of supermarkets close by, including one across the street from the hotel.

We checked in around 9pm all was fine the lady on reception was lovely and even told us where the local shop was across the road and what time it was open to. About 10.40pm kids were in bed and I took a shower. All of a sudden there was poo and toilet roll coming up the shower waste and onto my feet. I screamed and jumped out the shower and washed my feet in the sink and wiped with tissue the toilet and flushed which then made the issue worse as all the toilet started coming up the shower. I got dressed and went to reception which I got another room at 11pm at night I had to get the kids up and pack up everything up and go up 2 floors. The next morning this room the sink was backing up when brushing teeth and took about 20mins to drain. There is clearly a plumbing issue at the hotel. I didn't have a wash after that as was scared to with the sink backing up incase the same thing happened. I asked for a refund and they said a refund of breakfast was the best they could do this was after multiple back and forth. I have taken videos of the state of the bathroom

Place is a bit isolated. Away from city center. Only the basics. No tea/coffee facilities jn the room or fridge,... Staff are helpful and people are friendly, but the hotel needs lots of improvement in facilities. Also parking spaces are very limited.
