"We checked in on July 3, 2026. Shortly after arrival, we took the elevator and immediately noticed there was no air conditioning. The elevator also became stuck and began trembling, which was very frightening. We repeatedly pressed the buttons to open the doors before they finally released. "This property was one of dirtiest hotels we have experienced. We booked two nights with them, but we didn’t stay there because when we arrived we noticed how unkempt the outside was kept, trashy and landscaping needed a lot of work. We then asked to see our room, which needed some serious attention. "The resort and our room was clean. This resort is very well maintained. All the staffs was helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the Rod and Reel Restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday. There was no shows outside atrium due to rainfall. I will definitely revisit the Rod and Reel Resort."

"This hotel is very cute, clean and centrally located to the downtown Leonardtown area. Parking was very accessible and easy and I loved that breakfast was included. My only issue was the woman working at the front desk when we checked in. She was grumpy and not very friendly. We arrived at noon so we understood it was early and that all of our rooms might not yet be ready, but she seemed annoyed at us! And didn’t offer any accommodations to help us settle in after a 7 hour drive."

"My stay was just “okay” when I first arrived I was told my reservation couldn’t be found. Next I was told I have to pay $12 per day for parking in hotel parking lot. Lastly I was told since I’m “only” staying the weekend there will be be no room service."

"The property is a bit dated but not enough to disrupt the quality of the stay. The highlight of the property is Keri and Precious! We were there on a very, very busy week and they worked so hard the entire time we were there. Even when people came to them with hiccups or complaints they did their best to remedy guests concerns (even those that were being unkind). If I choose to stay there again it will be because of those ladies."
