"If you are a couple, this hotel is amazing with a great experience and so much to enjoy, especially the spa which is opened until 10p.m. I just wish we could have enjoyed the same experience as mother and daughter in the evenings after a long day and not just couples."

"The inn is surrounded by the most beautiful countryside and the property is just lovely. There was, however, no room in the bathroom itself for my friend and I to store our toiletries. A small glass shelf above the sink was all that was offered. No room in the shower for anything but a bar of soap. You must know that not everyone can use the shampoo and body soap/lotion you kindly provide. People have skin conditions that require use of specified products. No washcloths were provided. Is this a custom in the UK? In the US, we use washcloths for rinsing and wiping our skin."

"It’s a hotel over a pub/restaurant. Rooms are old fashioned but clean. Bed was comfortable and shower worked just fine. Staff were helpful and friendly. Parking was on site and there was always a space available despite it being open to visitors. Beautiful view from the garden over the lake. Didn’t sample the breakfast as there was a small area to pick your food after which you walked over to the separate main dining area. Dinner was average."

"This was my third stay in the guest house and certainly won't be my last. Booking and check-in were both very straightforward and parking is catered for either on-site or with a pass in a nearby car park. No issues there. The guest house is located handily between Windermere and Ambleside and it is a short walk to both. The property and rooms are always immaculately clean and comfortable. Breakfast is delicious and there are a wide range of choices, including some wonderful, locally sourced sausage/bacon and some excellent home-made preserves which I highly recommend trying. Last, but definitely not least, the hosts Steve and Tina are lovely people, friendly, helpful and clearly hard-working and put a lot of energy and effort into their guest house. Thank you and top marks to both."

"Great place to stay for Ambleside and the Lakes. Just five minute walk into town. Small room but you expect that in the Lakes. There is parking (it is very tight!). We didn’t see any staff but they sent us comprehensive self check in info. Everything you need for a couple of nights in Ambleside. Would definitely stay here again."

"Amazing location, great staff with reasonably priced bar and food for a premises of this nature. Slightly weird layout in that you couldn’t access the whole downstairs public space without going up and down stairs or going outside. Not a problem on a dry summers day. Exceptional grounds."
