  • This is a great place to visit in the North of England. It’s like stepping back in time to visit a town, farm, colliery village and old hall and getting to experience what it was like to live in those places from about 1910 onwards. There are staff who take on the roles of various locals that really bring this place to life. This picture is from the town where you can explore a bank, shops, pub, dentists and lots of other things as well as ride in traditional vehicles of the time. Such a brilliant experience.

Lovely host, immaculately kept rooms tastefully decorated and comfortable. Delicious well presented breakfast again with a homely style service. If I could give more than 5 stars for everything I would. Note: We've stayed in hundreds of hotesl/B&B's over the years and this is at the top of te league for service, value for money and quality.

Nice cosy B and B in the centre of the village Sue was an excellent host and directed us to a very nice pub/restaurant The Teesdale Hotel 100yards away where we had a pleasant supper Very nice bedroom, small ensuite shower room and toilet All perfectly adequate for our purposes Breakfast was tasty and enjoyable The dog Wilf kept us amused Parking was a few yards down the road, but quite safe For infirm travellers, worth noting that there are two flights of stairs, but we managed, reasonably fit aged 73 and 82, so not a problem for us We would very happily return

Absolutely perfect, beautifully done. Extremely comfortable and it had everything we could need. A lot of thought has gone into making it so. Sue was very friendly and professional, Breakfast was delicious. We will definitely recommend and return.

The B&B was amazing We stayed in the annexe which was like home from home Extremely well equipped and furnished to a very very high standard with everything and more than you could hope for The breakfast was very tasty 5 stars and more for the Hill If you are visiting the high force waterfalls like we did I would highly encourage and recommend that you stay at the Hill B&B
