"Clean and comfortable with competent staff. The free breakfasts have a wide variety of dishes, and you can order omelettes for no extra charge. The staff speak English reasonably well, so logistics are fairly easy (getting taxis, changing booking details, etc.). The rooms are spacious and offer nice views of the city.
The only negatives are things beyond the hotel's control: occasional city-wide power outages and water shutoffs. "

"After a wonderful one week stay at El Sol Hotel back in February 2025, we were very thankful to return to this lovely local hotel in Addis. Booking our trip to Madagascar meant we had to change flights in Addis and we figured: why not do a 2-day stopover in this Great city and visit some friends?
