Village Hotel on Biltmore Estate

"Beautiful room, great hotel, the coffee/snack bar at lobby was best food of the whole stay, great sandwiches made to order (so not a quick grab and go). The other restaurants were disappointing. So glad we booked this hotel as it was walkable to the shops and wine tasting versus. Complimentary wine tasting at lobby at 5pm as we as chocolate chip cookies at 8pm, fun and sweet! There are shuttles, but only twice an hour pickup & closes at 5pm. The mansion on the estate was miles away so it takes at least 20 min to drive there from the hotel."

"Positives: 1. hotel is well-situated; but we don't mind the street people in the plaza across from the hotel (they leave you alone). 2. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, are very nice. 3. The downstairs bar with free pinballs, skeeball and pool table was different. Negatives: 1. When we checked-in the person was "filling in" and we were not advised about amenities like the free drop-off service. Better training for entire staff is recommended. 2. Housekeeping was uneven. Some days a real thorough job, others it seemed only the bed and towels done."
