The property was renovated and pleasant -- and very well lit at night, which is so important. The staff was friendly and helpful over and over again. Our room was very clean, and everything was in good working order. The bed was comfortable. The heating/cooling system was loud, as they always are, but it was clearly well maintained and did not give off the musty small that so many at other hotels do. The breakfast was reasonably good. This hotel charged a $20 pet fee, but that was the lowest I could find in the area. I have high standards, and I would stay here again without a second thought.

Our room was clean, which is always a good thing! The free breakfast was pretty much as expected, would have liked a bit of variety from day to day but what was served was hot and decent. Even though near the highway, it was quiet at night and the location was perfect - quick drive to downtown or to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We would stay here again. NOTE: we used the dog walk area, there are signs to be aware of bears and the one night I did see THREE in the area. I quietly exited back to our room. I pray others are respectful of the wild life and do not bother the bears.
