"Quaint hotel in the centre of town. Good location for the castle and walks.. My room was in the main building. Room was a bit dated but clean and tidy with a proper walk in shower (a must for me) that was pretty decent for an old building. I didn’t have breakfast. Reception staff were friendly and helpful."

"The room and property were clean and well maintained. THe location was very close to the train station, which was very convenient for my walking holiday. It was too close to a busy A-road, though the traffic noise did not keep me awake even though I slept with an open window. I tried the cooked breakfast one morning, but gave it a miss the rest of the time to avoid clogging my arteries. There were healthy cold options available, and the coffee was good and plentiful. The mattress was not that comfortable, but the linens and pillows were fine. No complaints about the plumbing, though the shower fixture was rather complicated. Altogether, this hotel was a satisfactory budget hotel, and I would recommend it to people who are not seeking luxury. "

"WiFi is awful! It’s just really poor but free so everyone is using a system not able to cope.Also, disabled parking spaces were blocked off with building work so parking was harder than it should have been. Breakfast was very good and staff in the restaurant each take a station and were really on it all the time so nothing ran empty and everything was hot and fresh and there were no delays. The pool was nice but the jacuzzi is colder than it should be and was fed with cold water."
