"This was a lovely stay. It is basically a family’s house where they have built and independent construction with two short term rentals behind it. It is a small town experience. We stayed two nights to see Ancient Messenia and go on an olive oil tour. Had a really fun dinner with the locals in the plaza one night. We had some trouble with the WiFi the last morning. But I think it was a temporary thing."

"The hotel is excellent except for the shower curtain - don’t expect that in a 4-star hotel - and the lack of a simple wire rack at the balcony for drying swim costumes, a must have. The staff are super friendly and professional even though they pull 18-hour shifts daily (yes, that’s the tourism industry in Greece). Dinner buffet is the best option in town. I’d go back, and that says everything. "

We’ve traveled the entire country and seen the most amazing places but the Ambelona Retreat is in its a class of its own. "A wonderful Stay in an excellent Location The hotel boasts a fantastic location, perfect for exploring the area. The room was spotlessly clean, generously spacious, and very comfortable. The staff were exceptionally warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. A highlight was the delicious homemade breakfast and dinner, which added a charming personal touch to the experience. Highly recommended!"

"I would give 6 stars for the staff and service. The manager, Damien, was super friendly and helpful. Despite that we checked in at the midnight, he greeted us warmly and ushered us to our room, explaining everything thoroughly. He also suggested us how to explore Olympia and vicinity, which helped us a great deal. The room was clean, quiet, and spacious. Location was perfect too with just a few minutes walk to the museums and archeological site. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Olympia."
