"Such a lovely place, what a location. We first went in late 2020 and had a wonderful suite, this time we were in a standard room. We had a loch view which was lovely as we were celebrating two birthdays! The staff are so friendly, thank you all. There is a newer more modern part and the older historic building - we’ve been in the older bit both times. As the building is older, you can’t expect it to be clinical like a new build! "We stayed 3 days. Poor water pressure, even with shower on complete heat, it was only moderately warm. Had to call to request more tissue, body wash, tea."

"We were there during the weekend when the town held a special event about mountain bike. Luckily, the hotel was out of the city centre, so the night was peaceful and quiet. The room was spacious. Only one particularly dislike was that from the bathroom window, the afternoon sun was so strong that we could have got sunburn sitting on the toilet. And there was no curtain on bathroom window. Well, it was a very unusually sunny that day. "

"The whole property was impeccable! The room was spotless clean, and it looked exactly like in the pictures. The breakfast was really good and ready on time. The owners were really nice too. Would highly recommend, and we’ll come back next time we’re in the area"

"Room was small (only about 18” on each side of the bed) which made luggage and clothes difficult to manage. Bathroom was nice with heated floors. Room was dark, which didn't make it feel clean. Breakfast was good. Overall it was really expensive (~250 pounds) for one night, which seemed very overpriced for what we received. Not sure I would stay here again."

"What did we like? Here goes..warm welcome, clear information on breakfast and room details. Although this looks like an old hotel it I assume it has had a lot of money spent on upgrades to retain "Ye Olde" feel to it. Room was not massive but very well decorated with lovely solid sleigh bed. En-suite was very up to date with nice shower and endless hot water. Tiled floor but underfloor heating so not getting back in to bed with ice cold feet after a 3am loo trip. Sockets at bed side tables...
